Mrs Genevieve Dewberry
Assistant Principal
Personal message: I am very passionate about our system of Catholic schools. I believe our students are nurtured and cared for, and the environment in which they learn is both pastoral and engaging. I value the connection to Parish and the important role we have in guiding students in the ways of the Catholic faith. The role of Assistant Principal is one I embrace with enthusiasm, ensuring all students are learning at their level and experiencing success.
Statement on areas of responsibility: As Assistant Principal, I support the Principal in ensuring quality teaching and learning is delivered in all classrooms across all Key Learning Areas. I work with the staff , providing professional development and assisting them with programing, teaching strategies, assessing and reporting. At all times I promote the teachings of the Catholic Church with the example Jesus gave us and I aim to heighten the importance of living out our Mercy values.
Professional Experience: I have had experience in a range of different Catholic school communities. I have been a classroom teacher for many years, a Family Educator and a Religious Education Coordinator, spanning a period of 25 years. I enjoy the challenge of learning new pedagogies and hold a Masters of Educational Leadership, a Masters in Theology and have recently completed the GEO 1 and 2 focussing on catering for gifted students.
